Spring Break Youth Paddling Camp

Sprint Canoe and Kayak is a growing sport in BC. At our club, we strive to keep our programs affordable so all youth can participate and be a part of the sport. We are a growing program with over 40 athletes, ages ranging from 6-18. However, training and equipment costs are high; we currently do not have enough equipment or coaches to support our growth. Please help support the development of Sprint Canoe and Kayak athletes at False Creek. FCRCC Premier

FCRCC Premier is a dragon boat team that also trains and races OC-6. As such, our OC-6 training focuses on working toward a specific technical template that transitions well between dragon boat and outrigger.  Our level of abilities is diverse from dragon boat paddlers who are new to outrigger to outrigger World champions.  We are welcoming of non-dragon boat paddlers who wish to paddle OC-6 with us providing they are FCRCC members, come with significant prior OC-6 experience, support our culture and are accountable to attend practices they sign up for. Regatta Ready Summer Camp

Regatta Ready is a full July-August summer camp geared towards introducing kids (ages 10-15) to the next level of sprint canoe/kayak paddling (beyond CanoeKids), in a 10-week sports camp.  It focuses on getting kids involved in a healthy and active lifestyle, with an emphasis on developing canoe/kayak paddling skills.  The kids will spend each week building their skills and fitness, and by the end of the 10 weeks, they will have the opportunity to apply those skills at a fun end of season regatta called Pacific Cup!  In other words, this program is a taster of where they could go in […]

SBC Level 1 OC-1 – Basic Fundamentals Daytime

These sessions are geared towards paddlers who have completed an FCRCC OC1 Orientation session, and are competent in our C-Lion OC1s, with knowledge of rigging, equipment care, steering and balance.  The goals of these sessions are to work on technical skills, help paddlers build a strong foundation of stroke mechanics and increase paddling performance. Cost: $60 plus HST Times: 5 Weeks Tuesday, 10 AM – 11:15 AM Paddlers must have boats rigged and ready to go by 10 AM. This SBC is for paddlers who have completed an FCRCC OC1 orientation, and who are competent in our C-Lion OC1s, with knowledge of rigging, equipment care, steering and balancing, and who can do the standard 5 Km Time Trial course (Alder Bay ⇔ Science World) in less than 30 minutes.  The goals of this SBC are to work on technical skills, help paddlers build a strong foundation of stroke mechanics and increase paddling performance.
