Burrard compound clean up – April 29, 2018

Where: Burrard Compound Spring Cleanup, Whyte Avenue

OC-1 Orientation – Spring/Summer

When: May 6, 2018 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Where: OC1 Orientation, 1318 Cartwright – Granville Island

All paddlers using the OC-1 and other club equipment must be individual members of the False Creek Racing Canoe Club and must undergo a formal orientation to the club equipment. They must have club photo id to participate. Novice OC6 Outrigger – Its back for 2018!

When: May 2, 2018 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Where: Burrard Compound, Whyte Avenue

This is a co-ed program open to adults of all ages, and is coached by experienced FCRCC outrigger paddlers. Through this program, you will learn outrigger paddling technique (no paddling experience necessary), develop paddling fitness and be introduced to Hawaiian culture. Practices are held Mondays and Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, leaving from the FCRCC Burrard site.  Practices are twice each week for 4 weeks. Warning, the more practices you attend, the more quickly you will become addicted to outrigger paddling! FCRCC Open House – Alder Bay April 22, 2018

FCRCC OPEN HOUSE From 10am-3pm on April 22nd, we’re going to hold an open house at Alder Bay. This will allowing the public to experience paddling in Alder Bay. The public will be welcome–for a donation–to try out our outriggers and dragon boats! Cold Water Huli – Alder Bay (CANCELLED)

When: January 28, 2018 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Members! We have a COLD WATER Huli recover course coming up in Alder Bay. Two dates for your choosing! Please register via the link: https://doodle.com/poll/mih5wf3qnqpt2trv. Dates are: Jan 28, 1pm-3pm Feb 10, 2pm-3pm A cold water huli is a different animal than a warm water huli.  The club is encouraging all FCRCC OC1 users to do an annual cold water huli.  At some point in the future, this may become mandatory if using club equipment. Guaranteed it will be cold!
