If you have had a diagnosis of breast cancer, we are the team for you! Our purpose is to demonstrate that it is possible to live full, active and healthy lives after a diagnosis of breast cancer. We paddle together and support, learn and laugh with each other. We break the silence of breast cancer, make new friends in the process and encourage others to get in the boat with us. All ages are welcome and no previous sports experience is necessary.

Abreast Up The Creek is one of a number of Abreast In A Boat dragon boat teams around the lower mainland. Abreast Up The Creek is proud to paddle at FCRCC’s venue at Alder Bay, the venue where the original Abreast In A Boat crew paddled out of when it all started back in 1996 as a clinical study by Dr. Don McKenzie. Abreast In A Boat is a registered charitable society. In addition to dragon boating, the organization has a strong commitment to enhancing breast cancer awareness and supporting breast cancer research.
