Novice OC6 – August session

Novice OC6 Our last session of the summer commences the first week of August.  Be sure to get your friends and family signed up. There have been some amazing sunsets to paddle into over the past few weeks.  Thanks to Ron and RD for continuing to introduce paddlers to Outrigger canoeing. FCRCC Outrigger – March Madness – March 24th and 25th

FCRCC once again presents the March Madness event.  Join teams from around BC in this annual race around English Bay.  Register early to avoid disappointment. Date:  Saturday, March 24, 2018 and Sunday, March 25, 2018 Location:  FCRCC Outrigger Compound, Burrard Marina, Vanier Park, Vancouver Race:  4 km OC6 races in beautiful English Bay.  Races will run in heats of up to 10 canoes at a time. SENIOR C DRAGON BOAT TEAM IS RECRUITING We are a competitive Dragon Boat Team racing in the Women, Open and Mixed Divisions in local, national and international regattas.  We are racing at the Club Crew World Champs in Hungary, July 2018. Our Team is located on Granville Island. Practices are Sunday 9:30am and Thursday 7:30pm. FCRCC Spring Knockout – registration is open

The FCRCC Spring Knockout will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 This popular Spring event sells out each year where teams will race two 200-meter heats to qualify into one of several similar-times “Knockout Divisions”, and then a 200-meter semi-final to determine placement & ranking in a Knockout Division. Each Division’s final will be a Knockout series of 200-meter races. All teams will be in the first final race; the bottom team(s) in that first final race will be knocked out. OC1 Orientation – mandatory for all members using FCRCC equipment

All paddlers using the OC-1 and other club equipment must be individual members of the False Creek Racing Canoe Club and must undergo a formal orientation to the club equipment. They must have club photo id to participate. The main purpose of the orientation is for safety reasons to ensure the paddler can recover from a huli and to ensure the proper care and usage of the boats including the new surf riggers. NEW OC-1 Small boat coached sessions – Level 1 Basic Fundamentals

Both evening and daytime courses are available.  These courses run for five weeks.  These sessions are geared towards all paddlers who have completed a successful FCRCC OC-1 orientation session and are competent in our C-lion OC-1s with knowledge of rigging, equipment care, steering and balance.
