FCRCC’s Premier Dragon Boat team offers world-class coaching with top-level training, for athletes who are committed to competing at the highest level of dragon boat racing.  Please check it out at www.fcrccpremier.com. Fully loaded, a dragon boat seats 20 paddlers, a steers person and a drummer who sits at the front of the boat and beats out the stroke.  The boats themselves are usually multi-coloured, sometimes with dragon scales on the sides, and during races a dragon head and tail are traditionally mounted on the ends of the boat.  Races are usually between 200 and 2000 metres in length, and last between 2 and 10 minutes.
