2019 Canada Day Open House – Dragon Boat Event
This Canada Day, the club invites you to swing by, meet some members, and take a spin in a dragon boat with some of our established paddlers. While you’re there, learn about the club’s environmental philosophy of working with local partners to help preserve the False Creek waterways through education and concerted garbage clean-up efforts.
WHERE: 1318 Cartwright St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R8 (on the docks behind community centre).
WHO: All are invited to come down, try a boat, and chat with members about the club programming and community involvement
WHEN: the public is invited to join us between 11:00AM – 3:00PM, July 1st.
WHY: The event should offer great visuals for photos and videos related to Canada Day reporting. FCRCC Club members will also be onsite for interview opportunities. Various other stakeholders from the Granville Island community will also be at the docks taking part in our programming throughout the day.
FCRCC at Sea Village on Canada Day
Club members will also be participating at an environmental awareness activity with other Granville Island stakeholders, and OceanWise, at Sea Village by the big yellow crane on the North East corner of Granville Island. Take a few minutes to stop in at Sea Village where the FCRCC’s tent will be shared with Ocean Wise/Vancouver Aquarium who is promoting The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
