False Creek Racing Canoe Club Members

To Participate on the FCRCC Executive Board

FCRCC elects its Executive Board Members for the following term at its AGM.   We are encouraging all members to participate in the AGM and to put their names forward for election to the Board.

The AGM will be held at the False Creek Community Centre at 6:00 PM on October 19, 2018.

Descriptions of the Board positions are outlined on the FCRCC website. Board members have three principal roles:

  • To participate in collective monthly Board meetings and provide strategic direction, decision-making and executive services to the Club;
  • To undertake and champion specific roles or positions on behalf of the Board (these are covered in the descriptions); and
  • To be self-motivated, action-oriented go-getters to ensure to new ideas and initiatives are brought forward and followed up; and that the clubs work is done by them or coordinated through them with the aid of other volunteers.

The Board Positions are:

  • Commodore
  • Vice-Commodore
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Discipline Reps
    • Outrigger
    • Flatwater
    • Dragon Boat
  • Equipment
  • Communications
  • Fundraising

Its easy to run for election to these positions. Just get a club member to nominate you for any position(s) you are interested in, another member to second your nomination and forward or email that info with a brief resume (a paragraph or two) to the Board Secretary

While many incumbent Board member are running for re-election, ALL POSITIONS are up for election at this time.  Get the kind of leadership you want – run for election, attend the AGM and vote
